Thank you, Houston!

The Houston-based Coalition for the Homeless, Anchorage Municipality, and Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness gather after the community conversation at the Wilda Marston Theatre, on December 6, 2023.

What a great week! We so appreciate our visitors from Houston, Texas, sharing expertise, strategies and successes in addressing homelessness through a firm commitment to housing with individualized supports. Leaders of the Coalition for the Homeless and the Houston business community had a jam-packed three days talking with Mayor Dave Bronson and his team, the Anchorage Assembly, service providers and our staff. They helped us kick off an ambitious pilot project, Next Step, which aims to get 150 people into housing by the end of April.

We closed the visit out with a engaging community conversation on solutions for homelessness. Stay tuned for details and milestones of progress. Thank you, Houston!
