Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP)

What is YHDP?

The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is a federal initiative that helps communities develop and strengthen housing and support services for young people experiencing homelessness. Through YHDP, communities work alongside youth with lived experience to identify local needs, design solutions, and fund programs that improve housing stability and long-term outcomes for young people.

In Anchorage, YHDP can support youth-centered housing, services, and system improvements designed to prevent and end youth homelessness. The program emphasizes youth leadership, collaboration among community partners, and strategies that are responsive to the unique needs of young people ages 12 to 24.

ACEH will provide technical assistance to organizations interested in applying for a local project grant.
