New grants will strengthen our response

Strong partnerships just multiplied support for Anchorage neighbors working toward housing.

We are proud to be a recipient of grants through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund supported by three Alaska financial institutions — Northern Skies Federal Credit Union, Northrim Bank, and First National Bank Alaska. The program unlocked $66,500 to help us strengthen our community’s response.

Every $1 contributed by the local institutions was matched with $2.50 from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, dramatically expanding the impact of their commitment.

These funds will support ACEH's work in several areas: the Project Homeless Connect resource fair including the purchase of life-saving winter gear, technology for the Alaska Housing Summit, and our ongoing efforts to help our unhoused neighbors move toward stability and housing.

Together, these investments strengthen both the services people rely on today and the systems that help our neighbors with what we all need to be safe and live our fullest lives: A place to call home.

This year marks the first time these awards were available in Alaska. The grants to ACEH are among 126 awards totaling $4.5 million to Alaska organizations. Other awards this round went to organizations in Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and South Dakota. Here’s the complete list of nearly $13 million in awards to these communities.
